Located 10 km northeast of the town of Dalaba, about 1 hour and 45 minutes on foot and 25 minutes by car, the Doundimagna Market Gardens cover more than 2.5 km² and are divided among local families.
The farmers are considered among the largest vegetable producers in Guinea. Their harvests regularly supply the four natural regions of Guinea as well as some neighboring countries. Depending on the season, they grow a wide variety of produce, including potatoes, tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, eggplants, strawberries, spinach, lettuce, beets, turnips, sweet potatoes, parsley, leeks, cucumbers, peppers, beans, onions, garlic, bell peppers, corn, and more.
The site is particularly suitable for ecotourism, as visitors can discover agricultural activities directly on site. The produce is transported by truck to Dalaba town and then distributed to different destinations according to traders’ needs. Visitors can also buy fresh produce directly from the farmers at reasonable prices.
